If I had a dollar...
...for every time either my father or my stepmother asked me, in all seriousness, if the red wine they've just bought should be chilled... well, I'd have like $10.
Ok, not exactly a small fortune. But I still think that it's a bit ridiculous. I'm not trying to be snobby, but shouldn't two educated, reasonably cultured adults in their 50's know that red wine does not need to be chilled? (Especially considering the fact that one of their children lives, breathes, writes about, and constantly brings over the stuff?)
Sigh.

I learned that red wine should be thrown in the fridge for about 10/15 minutes before corking to achieve optimum temperature for taste.
Room temperature is lower than actual room temperature
I'm just saying is all...
Not the point, Lanahan!!! Sure, sure, red wine should be served at a "chilly room temperature", around 65 degrees or so.
BUT, I'm sick of my parents constantly asking me if they should keep their red wine in the refrigerator!
Send them a rather large refrigerator magnet that says NO RED WINE. That should do the trick.
It's like my parents always asking 'What time does your play start?'
FOR THE LAST TIME, ALL THEATHRE STARTS AT 8!!!! It has ever since I've been doing it, and it's not going to change!!
